Stonehenge

Situated in Wiltshire about 120km west of London, Stonehenge is one of the UK's oldest manmade attractions and is instantly recognised by most people around the world.

Stonehenge is believed to have been built in three stages by neolithic people starting around 5000 years ago, though the exact reason for its creation remains unknown. Could it have been to worship pagan gods or was it really a giant astronomical calendar? Built of bluestone, sarsen and welsh sandstone, Stonehenge has stood the test of time.
